Authorities Test National Mobile Emergency Alert System Across Most Governorates

Amman, July 27 (Petra) – The National Center for Security and Crisis
Management (NCSCM) has begun a series of operational trials of
Jordan’s national mobile warning messaging system across most
governorates from July 27 through August 2 to assess its readiness
for use during crises, disasters and emergencies.

In a statement issued Monday, the center said the trials are being
conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy and
Entrepreneurship, the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission and
licensed telecommunications operators.

The center said the tests are intended to evaluate the system’s
performance, including the speed of alert delivery, the effectiveness
of warning messages and the overall efficiency of the national early
warning system.

Authorities urged the public not to be alarmed upon receiving the
test messages, which will be sent in both Arabic and English and
accompanied by an audible alert to ensure they are immediately
noticed.
