Amman, July 27 (Petra) – Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi on Monday
discussed with Egyptian Ambassador to Jordan Khaled Abyad expanding
parliamentary cooperation and regional affairs.
Qadi pointed to the deep ties between Amman and Cairo, rooted in
close coordination between His Majesty King Abdullah II and Egyptian
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He noted joint efforts to address
regional issues, primarily advancing a two-state solution for a
sovereign Palestinian state.
He also called for closer cooperation between parliaments through the
exchange of expertise, reciprocal visits, and coordinated positions
at regional and international parliamentary forums. Qadi also
extended an official invitation to his Egyptian counterpart to visit
Jordan.
The ambassador, for his part, lauded the strategic partnership
between Jordan and Egypt, echoing Cairo’s commitment to bolstering
parliamentary, economic, and investment ties with the Kingdom.
