Oman Participates in Ostrovsky Fest
in Russia

Muscat, 3 August 2026 (ONA) — The
Sultanate of Oman’s Al Dan Theatre Troupe for Culture and Art will take part in
the 8th edition of Ostrovsky
Fest
due to held in the city of Kineshma, Russia, from 18 to 23 August 2026.

At the festival, Al Dan will stage a
drama titled “A Bite of Bread” authored by Omani dramaturg Mohammed bin Said Al
Rawahi.

Mohammed bin Salim Al Nabhani, Head
of Al Dan Theatre Troupe for Culture and Art, said, “The troupe’s participation
in the Russian festival is the outcome of a long march of planning and
international communication. Besides building bridges of cultural dialogue, the
troupe’s participation aims to spread national artistic experiences via international platforms.”

For his part, scenographer Mahmoud
bin Salim Al Makhroumi pointed out that “The participation of Al Dan in this
international event is in pursuance of a responsibility to convey the honourable
image of development in Omani theatre and to showcase the growing cultural
cooperation between the Omani and Russian sides.”

It is worth noting that the drama “A Bite of Bread” has been performed
more than 40 times since its production in 2017, and it has won many local and
international awards in Arab and European countries.
