Brussels, August 06 (QNA) – European stock markets closed mixed today as investors monitored the prospects of a possible agreement between the United States and Iran.
The pan-European STOXX 600 index closed up 0.2% at 658.19 points, after climbing as high as 660.91 points during the trading session.
Germany’s DAX index ended 0.15% higher, while France’s CAC 40 gained 0.35%.
In contrast, Britain’s FTSE 100 closed 0.19% lower.
Strong corporate earnings have helped European markets weather geopolitical risks, as investors are betting that any easing of tensions in the Middle East could further improve risk appetite. (QNA)
