Islamabad, August 09 (QNA) – Qatari mountaineering legend Sheikha Asma bint Thani Al-Thani succeeded in reaching the summit of Gasherbrum II, located in the Karakoram mountain range on the border between Pakistan and China.
Having previously summited 10 of the world’s 14 mountains exceeding 8,000 meters, this development marks the 11th and latest milestone in her extraordinary journey towards completing the world’s highest peaks.
These peaks hold exceptional significance, as they rise into what is known as the “Death Zone,” where oxygen levels drop dramatically and conditions become extremely dangerous.
Alongside her “Beyond Boundaries” journey-linked to humanitarian causes-Sheikha Asma seeks to inspire women and young people in the region to pursue their dreams. (QNA)
