Oman Showcases its Deep-Rooted Cultural Legacy at Embassy
Festival in The Hague

The Hague, 8 September 2026 (ONA) — Represented by its embassy in the
Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Sultanate of Oman has made strong presence at the
Embassy Festival in the Hague.

Oman hosted a set of cultural activities at the festival, since 3 September
2026, with the prime objective of consolidating cultural ties between the two friendly
countries.

At the outset of the festival, the embassy organized a cultural evening at the
residence of the head of mission. The event was attended by a number of
ambassadors, government officials and representatives of Dutch companies.

Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Salim Al Harthy, Ambassador of the Sultanate of
Oman to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, gave a speech at the reception, during which he underscored the
depth of Omani-Dutch relations, noting that the gathering aimed to promote the
values ​​of peace, communication and friendship.

The cultural programme included presentations of Omani poetry, folk music
and folkloric arts.

The Omani pavilion at the festival’s venue was a popular spot that attracted
approximately 70,000 people.

Jan van Zanen, Mayor of The Hague and chief guest at the event, visited the Omani pavilion and commended
the Sultanate of Oman’s participation in the festival. He pointed out that Oman
boasts rich history and unique values that made its culture stand apart at the
annual event.

The Hague Municipal Theatre also hosted traditional Omani
arts and folk performances that were attended by thousands of visitors. The Omani Embassy later participated in an event held at the Dam Square in Amsterdam where the Omani team presented folk
music performances and modern art paintings.
