Lower House ‘keen’ to listen to citizens’ demands: Speaker

Amman, August 11 (Petra) – Speaker of the Lower House of
Representatives, Mazen Qadi, said Jordan, under His Majesty King
Abdullah II’s leadership, has successfully maintained its security
and stability despite the region’s crises.

Qadi also attributed this achievement to the citizens’ awareness and
“strength” of Jordan’s army and security forces.

Talking at a meeting with a delegation from the “National Waqf Medal
Initiative,” Qadi urged direct communication between the House and
citizens and listening to their demands, opinions, and aspirations.

Qadi said unemployment is a key challenge, requiring concerted
efforts between the government and the private sector to provide job
opportunities for youth and align education and training outcomes
with needs of the labor market.

In turn, MP Qassem Qabai’, who attended the discussions, called for
working to expand the Kingdom’s middle class, which would enhance
awareness and provide a decent life for citizens.

Meanwhile, MP Mu’taz Abu Rumman said the meeting expressed pride in
the House’s “national” stances, which resonate with pulse of the
Jordanian street.

The delegation’s head, Haitham Abu Rumman, said the initiative was
launched to commend the patriotic stance and defend issues of the
Kingdom and its citizens.
