Amman, Aug. 11 (Petra) — The “My Health in My School” initiative
signed a memorandum of understanding with pharmaceutical company MS
Pharma on Tuesday to strengthen health awareness programs in
Jordanian schools.

The initiative operates in partnership with the Ministry of
Education, the Ministry of Health’s School Health Directorate, the
Ministry of Youth, the Ministry of Social Development, the Jordan
Food and Drug Administration, and the House of Representatives Health
Committee.

The partnership aims to develop and implement health awareness
programs targeting students, teaching staff and parents, covering a
wide range of health issues including attention-deficit hyperactivity
disorder, mental health, diabetes, chronic diseases, healthy
nutrition, respiratory illnesses, disease prevention and the safe use
of medication, among other topics relevant to students and the school
community.

Initiative chair Alaa Zoubi said the partnership with MS Pharma
represents an important model of cooperation between national
initiatives and the pharmaceutical sector, noting that building a
healthy society starts in schools and that raising health awareness
among students supports prevention, early detection and proper
management of health issues.

MS Pharma’s regional director for the Middle East, Gandhi Yacoub,
highlighted the company’s role as a national partner in supporting
initiatives with lasting impact, stemming from its commitment to
social responsibility, adding that the partnership aligns with the
company’s priorities in advancing the healthcare sector.

Initiative director Abeer Jallad said the memorandum adds a valuable
dimension to the initiative’s programs, particularly in specialized
health education within schools.

She added that the initiative would include a series of lectures,
workshops, awareness activities and medical days throughout the
school year, in cooperation with specialists and partner entities, to
ensure that accurate health information reaches students, teachers
and parents.

Separately, “My Health in My School” initiative signed a memorandum
of understanding with Arab Engineers Medical Company to serve as a
strategic partner in implementing growth curve screening standards
for students during the current academic year, covering public and
private schools participating in the first season of the Model
Healthy School Award for 2026-2027.

Under the agreement, Arab Engineers Medical Company will conduct
student growth curve screenings using specialized equipment,
providing accurate indicators of weight and height and supporting
early detection of growth problems, obesity and malnutrition, in line
with the initiative’s goals and the award’s standards.
