Seasonal Summer Weather to Hold Through Saturday

Amman, Aug. 12 (Petra) — Typical summer weather is forecast across
most regions through Saturday, with temperatures easing slightly on
Friday while hot to very hot conditions persist in the desert and
low-lying areas, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

Wednesday will see seasonally typical conditions across most parts of
the country, while the Badia will remain hot. Very hot weather is
forecast in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with moderate
northwesterly winds becoming active at times, particularly in desert
areas.

Little change is expected on Thursday, with the same weather pattern
continuing across the country. Seasonal conditions will prevail
across most regions, while hot weather persists in the Badia and very
hot temperatures continue in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and
Aqaba. Moderate northwesterly winds are expected to strengthen
occasionally.

A slight drop in temperatures is forecast on Friday. Despite the
decline, typical summer conditions will continue across most regions,
while the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba remain
hot. Some low-altitude clouds are also expected, accompanied by
moderate northwesterly winds that may become active at times in the
Badia.

Temperatures are expected to remain broadly stable on Saturday, with
seasonal summer weather across most areas. Hot conditions will
continue in the Badia, while the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and
Aqaba are forecast to return to very hot conditions. Moderate
northwesterly winds will become active at intervals.

Wednesday’s temperatures are forecast to reach 35 degrees Celsius in
East Amman and 32 C in West Amman, with highs of 31 C in the northern
highlands, 32 C in the Sharah highlands and 35 C across the plains.

Higher readings are expected in the desert and low-lying regions,
with temperatures reaching 39 C in the Badia, 41 C in the northern
Jordan Valley, 42 C at the Dead Sea, and 43 C in both the southern
Jordan Valley and Aqaba.
