Amman, Sept. 8 (Petra) – France, Canada, and the UK warned on
Tuesday that illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank
threaten prospects for a two-state solution.
French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Andy
Burnham, and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney condemned the
systemic expansion of settlements, specifically citing Israel’s
recent decision to advance construction in the E1 area, alongside a
spike in settler violence.
“The systematic expansion of settlements in the West Bank, as well as
the sharp increase in settler violence, poses a direct threat to this
vision for peace,” the leaders stated, urging a halt to actions that
jeopardize regional stability.
