Oman Participates in Joint Gulf-French Ministerial Meeting

New York, 22 Sep 2026 (ONA) — The
Sultanate of Oman took part in the joint ministerial meeting between the Gulf
Cooperation Council (GCC) states and the French Republic, held in New York, on
the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The Sultanate of Oman’s
delegation to the meeting was led by Ambassador Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al Qatbi,
Head of the International Organizations Department at the Foreign Ministry.

The meeting addressed cooperation
and partnership relations between the GCC states and the French Republic, as
well as ways to strengthen them and broaden their scope across areas of mutual
interest.

The meeting also reviewed the
latest regional and international developments, exchanged views on a number of
issues of common concern, and discussed efforts aimed at supporting security
and stability and advancing prospects for peace and diplomatic solutions to
current crises and challenges.

Both sides underscored the importance of sustained consultation
and coordination, in addition to enhancing cooperation in a manner that serves
shared interests and consolidates security and peace at both the regional and
international levels.
