Oman Begins Participation in 60th Marmomac Exhibition
in Verona

Muscat, 22 Sep 2026 (ONA) — The Sultanate of Oman,
represented by the Supervisory Team for Promoting Omani Products “OPEX”, has
commenced its participation in the 60th edition of Marmomac, the international
exhibition for natural stone, design and technology held in Verona, Italy.

Featuring the participation of 12 government and
private sector entities under Oman’s pavilion, Marmomac highlights the entire
natural stone supply chain, from quarrying and material processing to advanced
technologies, machinery and tools.

HH Sayyid Nizar Al Julanda Al Said, Ambassador of the
Sultanate of Oman to the Italian Republic, emphasised that the Omani presence
at Marmomac reflects the country’s vast potential in the natural stone and
marble sector while showcasing the quality and competitiveness of national
products in international markets.

The Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Italian
Republic noted that the expanded footprint of Oman’s pavilion and the rising
number of participating Omani bodies demonstrate the drive to strengthen Oman’s
global position in stone-related industries. He added that such engagements
extend beyond product promotion to highlighting Oman as a destination rich in high-quality
natural resources, supported by an ambitious private sector and qualified local
talent capable of converting these resources into high-value products.

In a notable milestone, the design and execution of
the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion was awarded for the first time to a local
enterprise managed by young Omani talents. “This step reflects strong
confidence in national capabilities, enhances In-Country Value (ICV), and encourages
SMEs to participate in international projects,” He said, adding: “The
participation at Marmomac reflects the directions of Oman Vision 2040 to advance
economic diversification, maximise private sector participation, boost non-oil
exports, and empower SMEs to compete globally. Such participation also drives
the efficient utilisation of natural resources, converting them into high-value
and competitive industries that reinforce the national economy and elevate
Oman’s standing in global markets.”

On his part, Eng. Dawood Salim Al Hadabi, CEO of the
Public Establishment for Industrial Estates “Madayn” and Head of the OPEX Team,
stated that the Sultanate of Oman’s participation in Marmomac forms part of
ongoing efforts to explore new export channels for Omani marble and natural
stone companies and factories. “The exhibition offers local businesses direct
access to international buyers, decision-makers, and industry specialists,
allowing them to showcase Omani marble, discover the latest global processing
technologies, and turn meetings into long-term commercial partnerships,” Al
Hadabi elaborated.

He pointed out that the marble, stone, and ceramic
sector represents one of the most promising investment sectors across the industrial
cities managed by Madayn. “The industrial cities currently host 69 projects in
this sector, representing total investments exceeding RO 71 million across a
total area of more than 1.4 million sqm. Through this participation, Madayn
aims to promote these projects and attract investments, technologies and
partnerships that maximise value addition to national natural resources and
boost non-oil exports,” Al Hadabi added.

The participation of the Sultanate of Oman forms part of
the 2026 plan of OPEX team, which comprises Madayn, Ministry of Commerce,
Industry and Investment Promotion, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI),
and the SMEs Development Authority “Riyada”. The participation builds on the
success of last year’s edition, where Omani companies secured commercial orders
valued at over USD 7 million and concluded over 80 contracts, covering export
opportunities for Omani marble across European and international projects.

This year’s Marmomac exhibition spans 81,000 sqm
across 12 halls and 8 outdoor areas, drawing more than 1,300 global exhibitors
from 54 countries and an estimated 50,000 industry professionals from 140
nations.
