Amman, Sept. 29 (Petra) — The Jordan Industrial Estates Company
(JIEC) launched a Partnership Council on Tuesday to sustain
consultation between its management and investor representatives.
The council aims to improve services, open direct channels for ideas
and feedback, and support investment promotion.
Talking at at the council’s first meeting, JIEC Board Chairman Obeid
Yassin said the new entity came following a series of meetings
between the board, executive management and investors across the
estates.
He said the council gives the company a “sustainable institutional”
framework to address investors’ concerns and seek solutions where
possible.
In turn, JICE Director General Adi Obeidat noted that the council
will move communication from meetings and field visits to an ongoing
framework.
He said this will allow regular follow-up on “priority” issues and
“faster” responses to investors’ needs. He added that the council is
comprised of investor representatives from all the company’s estates,
across different productive sectors.
Fathi Jaghbir, former head of the Jordan and Amman chambers of
industry, praised the launch. He said it would produce promising,
positive results.
The meeting launched the council’s founding charter, which governs
its work. Members agreed to hold regular meetings.
The council supports the estates’ role in attracting investment,
creating jobs and driving local development.
