Oman,
Tanzania Explore Means of Expanding Economic, Investment Partnership

es Salaam, 29 Sep 2026 (ONA) — A delegation from the Ministry of Commerce,
Industry and Investment Promotion to the United Republic of Tanzania discussed
enhancing communication with government and economic entities and the Tanzanian
business community, as well as exploring new opportunities for trade,
investment, and building partnerships between the private sectors in the two
countries.

The
delegation was headed by Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary of the
Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Investment
Promotion.

The
Undersecretary stressed that relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the
United Republic of Tanzania are based on deep historical ties, adding that the
coming phase offers opportunities to advance these relations into broader
horizons of economic and investment cooperation, noting that the Sultanate of
Oman views the United Republic of Tanzania as an important partner in East Africa
in light of its economic assets and promising opportunities.

She
stated that the Sultanate of Oman represents a strategic gateway for investors
to access regional markets and a hub for trade and partnerships between Asia
and Africa, capitalizing on its strategic geographical location, advanced
infrastructure, and stimulating business environment, alongside an integrated
system of enablers and incentives supporting the establishment and growth of
investment projects.

The
Undersecretary added that among the enablers provided by the Sultanate of Oman
to investors is the Golden Residency Programme, which constitutes one of the
supporting tools to attract investors, business owners, and competencies,
providing them and their families with long-term residency, thereby enhancing
investor stability and consolidating their connection with the business
environment and economic opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman. The program comes
within a broader framework aimed at improving the investor experience and
providing a more attractive and stable environment for long-term investments.

Ibtisam
Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and
Investment Promotion for Investment Promotion clarified that enhancing the
Sultanate of Oman’s presence in African markets and building sustainable
investment partnerships with countries possessing promising economic potential
represent one of the important pathways to diversify the investment base and
enhance international partnerships, pointing out that Tanzania is among the
markets with which the Sultanate of Oman is keen to develop cooperation
channels and transform cooperation opportunities into value-added projects and
investments.

Al
Farooji added that direct communication with the Tanzanian business community
allows for a deeper understanding of investors’ interests, connecting them with
available opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman, and paving the way for
establishing investment partnerships in priority sectors.

For
his part, Saud Hilal Al Shidhani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the
United Republic of Tanzania, emphasized that Omani-Tanzanian relations are
characterized by their historical depth and continuous development, noting the
importance of enhancing the economic and investment dimension of these
relations and preparing more channels of communication between institutions and
the business communities in the two countries.

He
stated that relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Republic of
Tanzania represent a model of well-established ties rooted deep in history, and
that current economic and investment activity reflects a joint orientation
toward leveraging these ties to build broader and more sustainable economic
partnerships.

The
Ambassador added that enhancing communication between government institutions
and the private sector would enable both countries to benefit from their
available assets and opportunities, opening the way for joint investments and
projects that serve mutual interests and support the aspirations of the two peoples.

The
visit comes to enhance the Sultanate of Oman’s economic and investment presence
in African markets and build on the well-established historical relations linking
it with the United Republic of Tanzania, in a manner that contributes to
developing them into a broader economic partnership and benefiting from the
opportunities and capabilities enjoyed by both countries.

The
visit includes holding a number of bilateral meetings with officials and
government and economic institutions in the United Republic of Tanzania, as
well as meetings with Tanzanian investors and business leaders to discuss
cooperation and investment opportunities, introduce the sectors and investment
opportunities available in the Sultanate of Oman, and explore areas that could
form a basis for future partnerships and projects between the two sides.
