Abu Dhabi, September 29 (Petra) – Jordan participated in the 2026
Annual Conference of the Arab Federation of Capital Markets, hosted
by the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX).

The two-day conference brings together more than 600 participants and
50 speakers, including CEOs and senior executives from over 25 stock
exchanges and clearing houses, to discuss the future of Arab capital
markets, market integration and interconnection and the sector’s
rapid technological transformation.

A bell-ringing ceremony was held Tuesday at the ADX to officially
launch the conference, attended by CEOs of regional capital markets
and members of the Arab Federation of Capital Markets.

Mazen Wathaifi, CEO of the Amman Stock Exchange, said discussions
focused on how Arab capital markets can respond to current regional
conditions, address potential crises and strengthen collective
cooperation and coordination.

Speaking to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Wathaifi said
participants discussed new financial and investment products,
artificial intelligence (AI) applications and their impact on
markets, market interconnection, investment funds and measures to
revitalise markets and boost liquidity.

He said the conference agenda covers capital market modernisation,
digital transformation, market interconnection, financial market
infrastructure, energy trading, market making, derivatives,
exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and AI applications.

The conference is attended by representatives of regulatory bodies,
policymakers, institutional investors, listed companies, investment
banks and market infrastructure providers.

The first day will feature a ceremony honouring the top-performing
Arab stock exchanges of the year and highlighting the performance of
indices across Arab markets.
