SSC App Attracts 619,000 Users Weeks After Launch

Amman, Oct. 4 (Petra) — More than 619,000 people have turned to the
Social Security Corporation’s (SSC) new mobile app in the few weeks
since its launch, as the agency shifts a growing range of pension,
insurance and benefit services to smartphones.

Launched in mid-September, the upgraded app now brings more than 30
services onto a single platform, allowing insured workers, retirees
and other beneficiaries to check their status and complete
transactions without visiting an SSC branch.

The SSC said Sunday the app is designed to remove one of the main
hurdles users face on large digital service platforms: finding the
service that applies to them. It automatically identifies each user’s
insurance status and displays the services relevant to their case.

The platform covers pension and retiree services, voluntary
subscriptions, flexible coverage, unemployment and maternity benefits
and the “Include Yourself” service, among others.

It also provides company liaison officers with access to immediate
medical treatment procedures for workplace injuries.

Access is set to widen further this week, when the SSC introduces a
new mechanism for Jordanian expatriates who do not have a digital
identity.

The new option will allow Jordanians abroad to access the app, follow
their insurance records and complete transactions electronically
without having to visit an SSC branch.

Available through Google Play and Apple’s App Store under “Jordanian
Social Security” or “SSC Jordan,” the platform forms part of the
corporation’s broader move toward digital delivery of social security
services.

The SSC said the rapid uptake since the app’s launch demonstrates
strong demand for digital services that reduce the time and steps
required to complete transactions.

The corporation plans to continue expanding the range of services
available through the platform and urged beneficiaries to download
the app or update existing versions to access the latest features.
