Bangkok, October 13 (QNA) – Lebanese Finance Minister Yassine Jaber reaffirmed his country’s commitment to economic reforms and macroeconomic stability, aiming to secure an IMF-supported program for recovery, reconstruction and sustainable growth.
During a meeting with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank meetings in Bangkok, Jaber said the conflict in southern Lebanon had displaced residents, damaged infrastructure, disrupted economic activity and increased pressure on public services.
He urged the IMF and World Bank to help mobilize humanitarian, emergency and reconstruction funding, stressing the need for international support to address urgent social needs and maintain stability. (QNA)
