Amman, June 18 (Petra) – A report on the achievements of ministries
and government institutions for last May, issued by the Ministry of
Government Communication, revealed completion of 13 projects in the
digital economy, telecom, postal, and cybersecurity sectors.

According to the report, more than 2.6 million digital IDs were
activated through the government “Sanad” application, while the
Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship inaugurated
comprehensive government service centers in the governorates of Salt
and Ajloun.

The report also noted the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission
(TRC)’s participation in the 2026 World Telecommunication Regulators
Symposium, organized by the International Telecommunication Union
(ITU).

The symposium brought together heads of regulatory bodies,
policymakers, and representatives from international organizations
and the private sector from around the world to discuss the future of
regulation, amid rapid technological advances.

The commission launched the first event, themed: “Employment and
Entrepreneurship in the Postal Sector” initiative in cooperation with
the University of Jordan.

This initiative, the first of its kind in the region, aims to
integrate students and graduates with postal companies and provide ad
hoc training programs to enhance employment opportunities and youth
competitiveness in the labor market.

The commission organized an awareness day for improving telecom
networks, in cooperation with the GSM Association (GSMA), aimed to
enhancing connectivity and strengthening Jordan’s position as a
“leading hub” for digital transformation.

The TRC also conducted field inspections and monitoring of licensed
and expired entities, confiscated non-compliant equipment, and took
legal action.

Additionally, TRC addressed complaints regarding radio radiation,
conducted 50 laboratory tests on radio equipment, and resolved 3
cases of radio-related interference.

In the same context, the report highlighted the key achievements of
the Jordan Post Company (JPC), mainly winning third place globally in
the 2025 Best Postage Stamp competition for its “Saints of Jordan”
issue.

The other milestones are inauguration of the Andalusian Post Office
in Amman, provision of postal and financial services to Egyptian
pilgrims via port of Aqaba, and release of a commemorative postcard
for Eid al-Adha.

In another related sector, the report noted the National Cyber
​​Security Center issued the Cyber ​​Security Situation Report for
the first quarter of 2026.

The center launched a digital awareness campaign in cooperation with
Zain Jordan, in addition to graduating the 10th batch from the “Cyber
​​Knights” training camp.
