Amman, Jan. 19 (Petra) – The Ministry of Social Development issued its report for last month designed to monitor its key services during the target period.
Last month, the ministry said it received 8,907 transactions for preparing social studies for the purpose of granting health insurance to impoverished households, 179 requests to exempt from treatment expenses, 55 requests to settle heirs’ rights, and 1,679 others to exempt from work permit fees.
In a statement Sunday, the ministry added that 38 children were placed in shelter homes, 32 others were discharged and 32 others were handed over to alternative families.
According to the report, a total of 6,109 registered and existing associations are active under the effective Associations Law, while 86 requests were submitted to amend the associations’ bylaws.
Meanwhile, 5 new associations were registered, 40 others were dissolved and 9 others were warned to rectify their status.
As for the report on the operations of the National Aid Fund (NAF), a total of 2, 823 families benefited from the regular and immediate emergency financial aid programs and 967 households received the monthly financial assistance.
Additionally, 122 families benefited from the physical rehabilitation aid program and 30 others benefited from the training program, while the response rate to the calls received by the Fund stood at 89%.
The report indicated that the Anti-Vagrancy Directorate carried out 400 campaigns and arrested 765 beggars nationwide.
