Amman, June 5 (Petra)– Despite stringent Israeli occupation measures
at the mosque’s gates and the Old City’s entrances, thousands of
worshipers performed Friday prayer at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
65,000 people performed Friday prayer at Al-Aqsa, with tens of
thousands arriving since the early morning hours, according to the
Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), which cited the Islamic Awqaf
Department in Jerusalem.
It is important to note that for the past three years, the occupation
has barred Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza Strip from
entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform prayer.
