AAPSO condemns terrorist attack on Karak church

Cairo, Oct. 25 (Petra) — The Afro-Asian Peoples’ Solidarity
Organization (AAPSO) condemned the terrorist attack that targeted a
church in Karak Governorate, affirming its full solidarity with
Jordan’s leadership, government, and people in confronting terrorism
and extremism, and supporting efforts to safeguard the Kingdom’s
security, stability, and civil peace.

In a statement on Sunday, AAPSO Secretary-General Mohammad Ihsan
stated that targeting places of worship constitutes a grave crime, a
violation of human rights and freedom of belief, and a transgression
against shared human values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence. He
emphasized that terrorism has no religion, and its crimes cannot be
justified under any religious or ideological pretext.

Ihsan explained that attacks on places of worship aim to sow fear,
incite discord, and undermine social cohesion, asserting that such
condemned acts will fail to weaken the unity and national fabric of
the Jordanian people.

He added that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, under the leadership
of His Majesty King Abdullah II, serves as a model of moderation and
coexistence, noting that preserving Jordan’s security and stability
is vital for broader regional security.

The Secretary-General called for strengthening Arab and international
cooperation to combat terrorism and extremism, hold perpetrators
accountable under the law, dismantle funding networks, counter hate
speech, and enhance the role of educational, cultural, and religious
institutions in fostering dialogue and mutual respect.

He reiterated the organization’s steadfast support for Jordan in
confronting this crime and backing all measures to ensure citizen
safety and national security.
