Amman, Jan 5 (Petra) — Agricultural food exports surged in 2024, reaching JD1.276 billion by the end of October, an increase of JD346 million, or 37.16 percent, compared with 2023, when products’ exports stood at JD1.1 billion, according to Agriculture Ministry figures.
The increase was mainly in live animal exports, 38 percent, rising from JD114 million to JD157, fruit exports 80 percent, from JD114 million to 263 million, and vegetable exports 15 percent, from JD153 million to 175 million, said Agriculture Minister Khaled Huneifat.
Cumulative date exports to all parts of the world were up to 16,280 tons, a 7 percent increase from 2023, and table eggs rose to 94 million, about 8 percent, he said.
