Culture, Information, Antiquities and Tourism Minister Khalid Al-Eiser and Sennar State Wali Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Al-Zubair Hassan Al-Sayed agreed to establish a specialized technical committee to rehabilitate and maintain Sennar’s cultural facilities as part of efforts to strengthen the state’s cultural infrastructure. The agreement was reached during a meeting at the minister’s office in Khartoum on Tuesday in the presence of the ministry’s undersecretaries, Dr. Graham Abdel Gadir and Somaya Al-Hadi. The meeting reviewed the condition of Sennar’s cultural facilities, the challenges they face, and urgent measures needed to restore them. Speaking to SUNA, the Wali said the discussions included a comprehensive assessment of the facilities, their historical significance, and their current condition. “We agreed on practical arrangements to rehabilitate these facilities and enhance their role in serving the people of Sennar State and Sudan as a whole,” he said. The Wali of Sennar reaffirmed the state’s commitment to working closely with the Ministry of Culture, Information, Tourism and Antiquities to implement rehabilitation programs and maximize the benefits of these facilities, while praising the ministry’s continued support for preserving Sennar’s cultural heritage.BH/BH
