Al Malath Foundation partners with Taiwan’s Tzu Chi to open inpatient hospice center

Amman, Oct. 19 (Petra) – Al Malath Foundation for Palliative Care
signed a cooperation agreement on Monday with Taiwan’s Tzu Chi
Foundation to support the creation of Bayt Al Malath (Al Malath
House), Jordan’s first specialized inpatient palliative care center.

Al Malath Foundation Chair Mahmoud Sarhan and Tzu Chi Foundation CEO
Po-Wen Yen signed the agreement in the presence of HRH Princess
Sarvath El Hassan, Honorary President of Al Malath Foundation.

Bayt Al Malath will offer a secure inpatient environment for patients
facing advanced, life-limiting illnesses whose medical or home
conditions prevent adequate care at home. The facility seeks to
alleviate physical suffering while giving families a peaceful setting
to stay by their loved ones’ side.

Sarhan noted that the center reflects Al Malath’s conviction that
care does not end when curative options decline, adding that every
patient deserves to live their remaining days with dignity and
comfort.

Since 1993, Al Malath has provided free, comprehensive home-based
palliative care, covering medical, nursing, psychological, and social
support. The new hospice expands on this mission for those unable to
receive care at home.

Founded in Taiwan in 1966, the global humanitarian organization Tzu
Chi brings international relief and healthcare expertise to the
partnership.
