Arab League, Arab Parliament decry Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia

Cairo, Oct. 6 (Petra) – The Arab Parliament and the Arab League
denounced the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia’s Jizan and Najran
airports on Tuesday that caused injuries and material damage.

Arab Parliament President Mohammed Yamahi said the pan-Arab
organization stands in solidarity with Saudi Arabia and supports
measures taken to protect its security and poeple. He urged the
international community to hold the perpetrators accountable and
support regional stability.

The Arab League decried the attempted strikes targeting Mecca and
Medina, calling attacks on Islamic holy sites a “dangerous
provocation to Muslims worldwide.”

The league noted that targeting civilian aviation infrastructure
violates Saudi sovereignty, international law, and the UN Charter.

The organization warned that continued escalation prolongs the Yemeni
crisis and threatens neighboring countries as well as international
waterways.

Pledging support for Yemen’s legitimate government, the Arab League
called for a comprehensive political settlement that preserves
Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.
