Amman, June 23 (Petra) – Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major
General Yousef Hunaiti visited the Defence Procurement Directorate on
Tuesday, where he was briefed on its key activities, achievements and
future development plans aimed at meeting the Jordan Armed Forces’
procurement needs with the highest standards of efficiency and
transparency.

Hunaiti received a briefing on the Joint Military Electronic
Procurement System (JAF-MEPS) and inaugurated its first phase. He was
briefed on the project’s implementation stages and its technical and
operational features.

Director of Defence Procurement said the system represents a major
step forward in military procurement and tendering processes by
transitioning to a fully integrated electronic platform.

The system is expected to enhance speed, accuracy, transparency and
operational efficiency, while improving services provided to
companies and suppliers.

He added that the launch marks the first phase of a comprehensive
project that will be gradually expanded to procurement entities
across the Jordan Armed Forces as part of broader efforts to
modernise the military procurement system.

Hunaiti urged continuing modernisation and digital transformation
efforts and discussed the role of advanced technologies in improving
operational performance and enhancing the efficiency of military
systems.

The visit was attended by several Jordan Armed Forces officers. At
the conclusion of the tour, Hunaiti signed the visitors’ record.
