Amman, June 14 (Petra) — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj.
Gen. Yousef Hunaiti received Commanding General of the United States
Army Central (ARCENT) Lieutenant General Kevin Leahy and his
accompanying delegation on Sunday at the General Headquarters of the
Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) – Arab Army.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed military cooperation and
coordination between the Jordan Armed Forces and the U.S. Army, as
well as ways to further strengthen their strategic partnership across
various military fields in support of security, stability, and
efforts to address shared challenges.
Maj. Gen. Hunaiti highlighted the deep-rooted ties between the armed
forces of the two friendly countries and praised the high level of
cooperation and coordination between them.
For his part, Lieutenant General Kevin Leahy expressed appreciation
for the pivotal role played by the Jordanian Armed Forces in
promoting security and stability at both the regional and
international levels.
The meeting was attended by several senior JAF officers and the U.S.
Defense Attaché in Amman.
