Amman, June 25 (Petra) — The Eastern Military Zone on Thursday dawn
foiled an attempt to smuggle narcotics into the Kingdom using
electronically guided balloons within its area of responsibility.
Border Guard units detected the balloons and tracked their movement
before engaging and bringing them down inside Jordanian territory, in
coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics
Department.
The balloons and their cargo were intercepted and seized, and the
materials were referred to the competent authorities for legal
action.
