Asian U-18 Hockey5s Championship Kicks Off with 9 Games at Al Amerat
Muscat, 21 July 2026 (ONA) — The
Sultanate of Oman, represented by Oman Hockey Association, is hosting the Asian
U-18 Hockey5s Championships, being played at Hockey Oman stadium in the Wilayat
of Al Amerat.
The championships, which began
today, will run until 25 July 2026. It brings together a select group of
promising Asian teams, of men and women, in a competitive atmosphere that
reflects the Sultanate of Oman’s growing status on the map of continental
championships.
The first day of the event saw the
holding of 9 matches (5 men’s games, 4 women’s games). In the men’s
competitions, Oman lost to the Pakistani 5-0, Iran defeated Iraq 5-0, India defeated
Bangladesh 7-3, Iran defeated Saudi Arabian 9-0 and Pakistan conquered Bangladesh

In the women’s competitions, India
defeated Kazakhstan 8-3, Oman lost to Pakistan 6-0, China conquered Uzbekistan
12-0 and Kazakhstan defeated Uzbekistan 5-2.
