Irbid, June 2 (Petra) – A fire that broke out Tuesday at a
500-square-meter plastics factory in Al-Hassan Industrial City in
Irbid Governorate was brought under control by Civil Defense and
Public Security Directorate teams, with two people suffering minor
smoke inhalation.
According to the Public Security Directorate’s media spokesperson,
firefighters from the East Irbid Civil Defense Directorate, supported
by the Northern Support Group, responded to the blaze, which
generated thick smoke due to the nature of the materials involved.
The spokesperson said firefighting teams succeeded in extinguishing
the fire, containing it, and preventing its spread to neighboring
facilities. Two individuals experienced shortness of breath as a
result of smoke inhalation and received the necessary first aid at
the scene. Their condition did not require hospitalization.
Irbid Governor Raed Jaafreh praised authorities’ rapid response and
high level of efficiency from the moment the incident was reported.
The Public Security Directorate and the governor said the relevant
authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances and
causes of the fire.
