Central Bank of Oman Issues Treasury Bills Worth OMR 19.7 Million

Muscat, October 05 (QNA) – The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) announced that the total value of government treasury bills allotted for this week’s issue amounted to OMR 19.7 million.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Bank said the total value of bills allotted for a 91-day maturity period reached OMR 16 million. The average accepted price was OMR 98.979, with a minimum accepted price of OMR 98.975 per OMR 100. The average discount rate stood at 4.09497 percent, while the average yield was 4.13721 percent.
The value of bills allotted for a 182-day maturity period amounted to OMR 3.7 million. The average accepted price was OMR 98.016, with a minimum accepted price of OMR 97.925 per OMR 100. The average discount rate was 3.97847 percent, while the average yield stood at 4.05905 percent.
The statement noted that the interest rate on repurchase agreements (Repo) with the Central Bank of Oman for these bills is 4.50 percent, while the discount rate with the Central Bank for treasury bill facilities is 5.00 percent.
Treasury bills are short-term, secured financial instruments issued by the Ministry of Finance to provide investment opportunities for licensed commercial banks, with the Central Bank of Oman acting as the issue manager. (QNA)
