Beijing, July 04 (QNA) – China launched a new satellite cluster into space Saturday from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi Province in northern China.
The objective of this mission is to strengthen satellite-based internet services.
The group was launched at 5:30 p.m. (Beijing Time) aboard a modified Long March-6 carrier rocket and successfully entered its planned orbit.
This satellite group will form part of the Spacesail Constellation, a large Chinese commercial low-Earth orbit satellite network used to build a global ultra-high-speed satellite internet system.
This launch marked the 655th mission of the Long March carrier rocket series, according to the launch center.
The 654th mission of the same series was launched on July 2, carrying an ocean-observation satellite to monitor the world’s marine environment, including waves, temperatures, and wind conditions. (QNA)
