Cooler Conditions Through Friday Before Temperatures Rebound Over Weekend

Amman, June 18 (Petra) — A brief cooling trend is expected to bring
temperatures slightly below recent levels through Friday before a
gradual warm-up returns over the weekend, according to the Jordan
Meteorological Department.

Forecasters said Thursday will see a slight drop in temperatures,
with mild summer conditions prevailing across the highlands and
plains. Relatively hot weather is expected to continue in the Badia,
while the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba will remain hot.

Moderate northwesterly winds are forecast throughout the day,
becoming active at times, particularly in exposed areas.

Temperatures are expected to edge down slightly again on Friday,
maintaining mild weather across most regions. Relatively hot to hot
conditions will persist in the Badia and low-lying areas, including
the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with northwesterly winds
remaining moderate and occasionally active.

The weather pattern is forecast to shift on Saturday as temperatures
begin to rise. Mild summer conditions will continue in the highlands
and plains, while relatively hot weather is expected in the Badia and
hot conditions will persist in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and
Aqaba.

A further increase in temperatures is expected on Sunday. Weather
conditions will remain seasonally mild across the highlands and
plains, while hot weather is forecast in the Badia, the Jordan
Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Winds are expected to become
northwesterly to northeasterly and remain moderate in speed, with
occasional stronger gusts.

Temperatures on Thursday are forecast to reach 31 degrees Celsius in
Amman, while highs are expected at 26 C in the northern highlands and
27 C in the Sharah highlands. Temperatures will rise to 36 C in the
Badia, 37 C in the northern Jordan Valley, 39 C in both the southern
Jordan Valley and Aqaba, and 38 C at the Dead Sea.
