Amman, June 9 (Petra) –Ministry of Water and Irrigation’s Water
Authority of Jordan (WAJ) seized 3 tanks, 7 pumps, 16 sprayers, and
an illegal water pipeline on edge of the main Amman-Aqaba Desert
Highway.
These illegal fixtures were removed, while official reports were
prepared to initiate legal action into the cases.
According to its statement issued on Tuesday, the ministry, in
cooperation with Aqaba Water Company and the Public Security
Directorate, conducted a crackdown on the Desert Highway in Hasa
district to remove repeated illegal encroachments on the main water
infrastructure supplying drinking water to citizens.
The statement said these connections were being used to supply water
to wash cars and trucks traveling on the main Amman-Aqaba Desert
Highway.
