“The relationship between Morocco and China is excellent, both politically and economically. Strengthening the cultural exchange between these two countries with their extraordinary history and splendid culture seems an obvious way of taking this partnership to the next level”, Changlin told MAP, at the closing ceremony of the “Chinese New Year Carnival”, a cultural event held from January 22 to 27 in Rabat.

He emphasized that the celebration of the Chinese Spring Festival, held this year under the sign of the Dragon, is of particular significance as it had been relocated for the first time and for a week in the medina of Rabat, with the aim of introducing Moroccan and foreign visitors to the various facets of Chinese culture, noting the enthusiasm and interest expressed by these visitors in front of the various exhibition areas set up all along the Avenue des Consuls, in the medina of Rabat.

“We set ourselves the goal of organizing this cultural event to strengthen mutual appreciation between the two peoples, and seeing its success, we may move its festivities next year to other parts of the Kingdom. We emphasize the strengthening of cultural exchanges and mutual appreciation as a prerequisite for boosting our bilateral cooperation”, said the Chinese diplomat.
