Amman, Oct. 11 (Petra) – Pumping from the Disi Water Conveyance
Project is suspended after severe weather triggered widespread
technical failures across southern and eastern Jordan, stakeholders
announced.
The shutdown will “directly” cause delays and adjustments to
scheduled water distribution across several Amman neighborhoods on
Saturday and Sunday, the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, the Water
Authority of Jordan (WAJ), Jordan Water Company (Miyahuna), and the
Disi Water Company (DIWACO) said in a statement.
The statement added that engineering and technical crews are working
around the clock to repair the damaged infrastructure, restore well
operations, and return pumping to full capacity.
Once repairs are complete, scheduled delivery will resume according
to each area’s assigned rotation.
Water authorities urged affected Jordanians to cooperate and
understand the current hiatus during the emergency outage as
technicians work to restore normal service.
