Amman, Sept. 22 (Petra) — The Eastern Military Zone, on Monday, intercepted four separate attempts to smuggle narcotics into the Kingdom using balloons equipped with crude guidance devices.
According to the Jordan Armed Forces/Arab Army (JAF), the balloons were detected at multiple sites along the border during the early hours of the morning. Border Guard units, working in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, tracked and brought down the devices along with their cargo inside Jordanian territory.
The seized drugs were transferred to the competent authorities for further investigation.
The army reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the Kingdom’s borders, stressing it will continue to act decisively against all smuggling and infiltration attempts.
