European markets open lower as tech and AI valuation concerns trigger global sell-off

Amman, June 23 (Petra) — European equity markets opened lower on
Tuesday, heavily weighed down by renewed investor anxiety regarding
the lofty valuations of major technology and artificial intelligence
(AI) companies.

According to Bloomberg data, Germany’s DAX index in Frankfurt slid by
1.15 percent at the opening bell, while Italy’s FTSE MIB index in
Milan posted a 1.05 percent decline.

In Paris, France’s CAC 40 index fell by 0.95 percent, while Britain’s
blue-chip FTSE 100 index in London dropped 0.73 percent, following a
broader global trend of profit-taking across tech sectors.
