Speaking at the 33rd session of the FAO Regional Conference for Africa (ARC33), Sadiki focused on the actions undertaken by the Kingdom in the agricultural sector which has enabled it to face a context marked by multiple crises.

In this regard, the minister recalled the “Green Morocco Plan” launched in 2008, which laid the foundations of Morocco’s agricultural policy as part of a long-term vision aimed at promoting food security and sovereignty.

He pointed out that the Kingdom devised the “Green Generation” strategy in 2020 on the basis of the results and lessons of the “Green Morocco Plan”, with the aim of placing humans at the heart of the agricultural strategy and developing sustainable and resilient agriculture.

“Impacted by climate change, African countries are called upon to produce more with fewer resources, particularly in terms of water,” Sadiki said, citing Morocco’s water policy in this regard.

Held under the auspices of the Kingdom of Morocco, the three-day conference offers a major opportunity for African countries to discuss practical and concrete solutions for food security and improved agricultural production, and to define priorities with the FAO for the next two years, with the aim of achieving transformative and sustainable change in agri-food systems across the continent.
