Foreign Minister Discusses Regional
Developments, De‑escalation Efforts with Jordanian, Qatari Counterparts

Muscat, 19 Jul 2026 (ONA) — Sayyid Badr bin
Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister held a telephone conversation today with Ayman
Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates
of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, discussing regional developments and their
impact on the security and stability of the region.

The two
ministers stressed the need to intensify political efforts to halt escalation,
prioritise dialogue and peaceful solutions and prevent the region from sliding
into further confrontation. They also underlined the importance of upholding
international law, safeguarding freedom of navigation, protecting the interests
of all peoples and preserving the sovereignty and stability of states.

In a separate
call, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister spoke with Sheikh
Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign
Affairs of the State of Qatar.

The telephone conversation
covered the latest regional developments, mediation efforts and ongoing
communications to prevent escalation and confrontation and to advance
opportunities for reaching understanding between the parties that could lead to
a practical and sustainable consensus — particularly on securing the freedom
and safety of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and restoring global
supply chains.

Both sides
affirmed the importance of continued consultation and coordination on current
developments, and of concerted regional and international efforts to address
the root causes of tension and consolidate security and stability.
