Tokyo, August 20 (QNA) – Four workers were killed on Thursday morning after being struck by an express train while carrying out maintenance work on the tracks at a train station in Japan’s Tochigi Prefecture, north of Tokyo.
Japanese public broadcaster (NHK) reported that the four workers were on the tracks to remove weeds when the accident occurred on Thursday morning at Shin-Kanuma Station on the Tobu Nikko Line.
The four were taken to the hospital unconscious and were later pronounced dead.
Police and firefighters are investigating the details of the incident. (QNA)
