Saudi Arabia’s Voluntary Carbon Market Fuels the Shift to a Low-Carbon
Manama, October 05 (QNA) – Speaking at the 31st meeting of the GCC Electricity and Water Cooperation Committee in Manama, GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi underscored that energy security relies on supply continuity, export outlet diversification, and resilient supply chains.
Highlighting 2025 energy indicators, Albudaiwi reported that GCC crude oil reserves exceed 518 billion barrels, natural gas reserves surpass 44 trillion cubic meters, daily crude production tops 16 million barrels, and marketed natural gas reaches 461 billion cubic meters.
Addressing transit route disruptions, Albudaiwi urged enhanced regional coordination to secure supplies during a balanced energy transition and called for unified GCC alignment against cross-border international regulations to safeguard market competitiveness. (QNA)
