Green Jobs Project Offers 849 Temporary Jobs in Irbid

Irbid, June 18 (Petra) — Directorate of Agriculture in Koura
District Thursday announced availability of 849 temporary job
opportunities under the Green Jobs project within the national
afforestation program.

Implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, in cooperation with
Amman-based Innovation Threads Consulting Agency, the program is
funded by the German Development Bank (KfW).

In remarks to “Petra” Thursday, Koura Agriculture Director Salem
Khasawneh the temporary jobs are implemented over seven phases, with
a 3-month maximum employment period in Sartaba Al-Tantour area near
the Barqash olive press.

He said applications will be accepted from Sunday, June 21 through
June 25, adding that 50% of the jobs are allocated for Jordanians and
50% for Syrian refugees, with a minimum of 35 percent reserved for
women and 5% for persons with disabilities.

He urged women, persons with disabilities and beneficiaries of the
National Aid Fund to apply and submit the required documents.

He noted employment is restricted to residents of Koura District,
Tabaqet Fahel and Al-Masharea, with age limits of 18-53 years for
females and 18-57 years range for males, as applicants must be
non-pensioners currently.
