Amman, May 14 (Petra) – Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman opened a Gulf-US Summit in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Wednesday, to discuss key regional issues.
The summit brought together US President Donald Trump and heads of state of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman.
Bin Salman said in opening remarks that the Gulf-US Summit reflects a commitment to developing cooperation and collective action, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
“We seek to de-escalate the escalation tension in the region, end the war in Gaza, and find a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue,” he added.
The US President arrived in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday at the start of his first Middle East tour of his second term, which will also take him to Qatar and the UAE.
