Ministry Launches “Itqan” Platform

Muscat,
13 Oct 2026 (ONA) — The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism launched today the
internal digital platform “Itqan” along with a package of 14
electronic services for beneficiaries, as part of its efforts to develop the
work environment, elevate institutional performance efficiency, and facilitate
transaction processing.

The
“Itqan” platform aims to link strategic plans with project execution,
enhance data accuracy, and provide senior leadership with a comprehensive,
real-time overview of the ministry’s performance, thereby supporting
decision-making, helping detect challenges early, and monitoring progress
toward achieving objectives.

Asmaa
Abdullah Al Sinani, Director of Digital Transformation, stated that the launch
of the “Itqan” platform and the new electronic services come within
the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism’s efforts to advance institutional
performance and improve beneficiary experience. She explained that the platform
enables linking strategic plans with project implementation and tracking their
performance, providing accurate and updated data that supports decision-making,
while the electronic services facilitate the completion of transactions without
the need to visit the ministry’s headquarters.

She
added that through these digital solutions, the Ministry of Heritage and
Tourism seeks to enhance integration among its departments, establish a culture
of transparency and institutional work, and enable employees to carry out their
duties with efficiency and clarity, thereby contributing to achieving the
ministry’s goals and delivering more accessible services to beneficiaries.

The
platform provides project managers with tools to plan their projects, track
execution, and manage associated risks. It also offers employees clarity regarding
tasks while highlighting their contributions toward achieving the ministry’s
goals, thereby strengthening the interconnectedness of institutional work and
the integration of efforts.

The
package of electronic services covers four areas, including adventure tourism,
tourism establishments, fine arts groups, and caves, allowing beneficiaries to
complete their transactions electronically without the need to visit the
ministry’s headquarters.

The
launch of the platform and the new services comes within the framework of the
ministry’s digital transformation efforts and the development of its work and
service ecosystem, contributing to raising the efficiency of internal
operations and streamlining procedures for beneficiaries.
