HH Sayyid Theyazin Issues Decision to Form Team for “Omani Cultural Laboratories” Project

Muscat, 28 Apr (ONA) — HH Sayyid
Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, has issued
a decision to form the “Omani Cultural Laboratories” (OCL) project
team.

The initiative constitutes a
collaborative effort undertaken by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the Cultural Club and Bait Al
Zubair Foundation. The project seeks to encourage initiatives, partnerships and
cooperation among various sectors to promote cultural action locally and
internationally.

The OCL project keeps pace with the
Sultanate of Oman’s cultural strategy’s objectives, notably in terms of promoting
innovation, studies and research that enhance creativity and development, and the extent to which these are linked to the pillar of cultural communication.

This is envisaged through the exchange
of expertise (in Oman and abroad), cultural dialogue with countries around the
world, partnership and integration with relevant local and international
institutions.

The OCL aim to strengthen the bonds
of cultural and civilizational collaboration and to highlight Omani people’s efforts
and accumulated knowledge through the implementation of research projects,
cultural programmes, exhibitions, meetings and other events that explore shared
cognitive values ​​with nations through cooperation with cultural and academic
institutions abroad.

Through its direct supervision of
the OCL project, the Ministry affirms its commitment to support joint cultural initiatives,
integrate institutional efforts and contribute to the effective representation
of Omani identity and consolidation of the Sultanate of Oman’s presence on the
regional and international cultural arenas, based on the concept of cultural
diplomacy as a strategic tool for communicating with the world.
