Amman, June 9 (Petra) – Speaker of the Lower House of
Representatives, Mazen Qadi, on Tuesday received the Azerbaijan
Ambassador to Kingdom, Shahin Abdullayev, to discuss ways to
strengthen bilateral relations, particularly parliamentary ties.
During the meeting held at the House’s headquarters, Qadi emphasized
the “strong” Jordanian-Azerbaijani relations, calling for enhancing
ties at all levels and working to expand areas of joint cooperation,
including creating opportunities for mutual investment, to serve
common interests.
Qadi noted Jordan, under His Majesty King Abdullah II’s leadership,
continues its efforts to achieve security and stability in the
region, affirming the Kingdom’s belief in the two-state solution as
the guarantee to restore rights of the brotherly Palestinian people.
For his part, the Azerbaijani Ambassador praised the level of
bilateral relations, commending Jordan’s role, under the King’s
leadership, in striving to achieve the region’s stability and
promoting peaceful solutions to crises.
The diplomat also stressed his country’s keenness to enhance
bilateral cooperation in various fields, mainly in economic, trade
and investment areas, as well as expanding prospects for joint work
to achieve mutual interests.
