KHARTOUM, July 29, 2026 (SUNA) – Minister of Industry and Trade Mohasin Ali Yagoub affirmed that making optimal use of the country’s resources requires close coordination among all government institutions involved in economic affairs, as well as private sector partners, and intensified efforts, noting that Sudan possesses abundant resources that place it among resource-rich nations. Addressing the closing session of the “Promoting Exports and Import Substitution” workshop in Khartoum on Wednesday, the Minister said the country’s resources are being targeted and that the current war is a war over resources. She congratulated the Sudanese people on the recent advances achieved by the Armed Forces and supporting forces in North Kordofan, saying these developments confirm that the state is steadily moving towards its objectives. She said the workshop’s recommendations are in line with the ministry’s strategic plans, adding that the ministry has an executive programme to implement the outcomes.
