Beirut, June 9 (Petra) — Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health said on
Tuesday that an Israeli airstrike on the Al-Masaken neighborhood in
the city of Tyre killed eight people, including a woman, and injured
35 others, among them three children and six women.
In a statement, the ministry said a separate Israeli airstrike on the
Al-Bass area in the Tyre district killed three people and wounded
nine others, including two women.
A Lebanese security source said Israeli warplanes were carrying out a
series of airstrikes targeting the villages of Srifa, Deir Kifa,
Majdal Zoun and Yater in the districts of Tyre and Bint Jbeil.
The airstrikes were accompanied by 155 mm artillery shelling of
villages in the western sector of the Tyre district, while Israeli
fighter jets and drones continued to operate in the area’s airspace.
