ISSF President Praises Impressive Organization of Final Olympic Qualification Championship in Doha

Doha, April 28 (QNA) – President of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Luciano Rossi praised the impressive organization of the Final Olympic Qualification Championship Shotgun, which was held at Lusail Shooting Complex and qualifies for the Summer Olympic Games (Paris 2024).

In a statement today, Rossi noted Qatar’s excellence in organizing sporting events in general and the ISSF championships in particular, praising the facilities and organizational capabilities made available for the success of this tournament.

The ISSF President noted the participation of 433 male and female shooters representing 82 countries in this event for the first time in its history, noting that it was a record number that no shooting tournaments have ever seen before, and this reflects the good reputation of tournaments hosted by the State of Qatar.

Pointing to existing coordination between the Qatar Shooting and Archery Federation and the ISSF, he said: “We are discussing together the possibility of granting Qatar to host another high-level tournament in the coming months.”
On the possibility of organizing the 2036 Olympic Games, the ISSF President said that the Federation will support Qatar’s bid to organize the Olympics if it submits a request to host, especially since Doha has been praised by the entire world for its wonderful organization and great capabilities in organizing various tournaments, particularly after the great success in organizing the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. He also praised the world-class Lusail Shooting Range, stressing that it can host this game in the Olympics. (QNA)
